What is the difference between coaching and therapy? In the professional coaching relationship, clients are guided in identifying what is happening now and what they want for the future. However, therapy or counseling can involve dealing with issues in the client's past that currently hinder forward progress or cause problems in their present lives.
How does the coach/client relationship work? The professional coaching relationship begins with a free consultation, wherein the needs and desired outcomes of the client/coach relationship are identified. Afterwards, a written agreement between the client and coach is developed that defines the roles and responsibilities of each party during the professional coaching relationship. The client and coach meet according to the agreed upon schedule.
How many sessions are required for coaching? There is no required number of sessions. The suggested number of sessions depends upon the issue to be addressed and the client's desired outcome.
